Humility
As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.― C.S. Lewis
The dictionary defines Humble like this: Not proud or arrogant; modest - courteously respectful. Humility is defined as: the quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one's own importance. Some antonyms are: proud, exalted, patronizing, self-important.
Romans 3:23 tell us;
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GodWe can't do too much on our own but, only through Gods grace. We understand that all glory is Gods; not ours. We are but mere mortals; all the same and all very imperfect. We have nothing to be prideful about but Him. God seeks out the meek and humble and gives them honor. God shows us in Numbers 12:3 when and why he chose Moses as His messenger;
Now the man Moses was the most humble of all men on the face of the EarthHe reiterates this point in Psalm 147:6;
The Lord raises up the humble but, he hurls the wicked to the groundGod shows his love for humility and His promise to raise the humble up in Proverbs 3:24;
He mocks those who ridicule, but He shows favor to the humbleIn James 4:6 God blesses humility;
However the undeserved kindness that He gives is greater. So it says; 'God opposes the proud ones, but He gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones'He continues this lesson for us in James 4:10;
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you upWith humility comes understanding and the ability to learn, patience, and mildness. God wants these things for us. 1 Peter 5:6 brings up patience;
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due timeJesus himself gave us a perfect example of humility. He is our guidepost and salvation. We can look to Him to see how to live. Philippians 2:8;

More than that, when He came as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, yes, death on a crossJesus saw the importance of humility.
In Matthew 11:29 Jesus says;
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am mild tempered and humble at heart and you will find refreshment for yourselvesAs Psalms 138;6 teaches us;
Though the Lord is high, He takes note of the humble. But, the proud He knows only from a distancePsalms 10:17 tells us;
But, you will hear the request of the humble, O, Lord. You will make their hearts firm and pay close attention to themWe can live lives that glorify God and draw Him near. We can live under His watchful eye and protection. If we humble our hearts to hear and understand Him, He will exalt us through the knowledge we gain from Him to share good works with others. We will be refreshed and be able to better follow the example Jesus left for us.
1 Timothy 1:17;
God bless you today and everyday!
To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen
